The small synthetic components that sometimes show up in otherwise natural-fiber garments are checked too. Lezat makes its clothing in its own Los Angeles factory, where the pieces are cut, sewn, printed and finished in-house. They use GOTS-certified organic cotton and their fabrics are dyed and printed locally with lead-free and azo-free dyes and OEKO-TEX-certified inks. They also avoid PFAS, BPA and fabric coatings.
For fitted styles that need stretch, Lezat uses a small amount of bio-based elastane, which replaces a portion of the petroleum normally used to make conventional elastane with plant-derived material.
Net Positive makes underwear from GOTS-certified organic cotton, organic Egyptian cotton and hemp, with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100-certified trims and finishes, including elastic and stitching. The brand also states that its products are tested to be free from harmful azo dyes and formaldehyde and are made through a fully traceable supply chain.
Their focus is on avoiding the materials and treatments commonly used in conventional underwear. Net Positive markets its core collection as plastic- and PFAS-free and uses plant-based fibers throughout the styles we carry. Some pieces are also offered in botanical-dyed fabrics.
Hemp Traders specializes in hemp-based clothing and textiles, including 100% hemp and hemp blends with organic cotton. The company holds Organic Content Standard (OCS) certification through ECOCERT for a range of hemp and organic cotton fabrics, and its apparel is made from the same hemp jersey fabrics it sells for garment production.
For dyed fabrics, Hemp Traders states that it uses low-impact dyes and dyeing methods. Some dyeing is done in Los Angeles and some in China, depending on the fabric and order. Because the company also sells fabrics containing elastane and offers optional specialty treatments, we review the composition of each Hemp Traders piece individually rather than treating every product as meeting the same standard.
Hope & Henry uses organic cotton throughout much of its collection, with individual garments certified under either GOTS or the Organic Content Standard (OCS). The majority of its current assortment is GOTS-certified, which means the certified garment has met organic, environmental and social requirements through each stage of production. Other pieces are OCS-certified, which verifies and tracks the organic fiber content through the supply chain.
Because certification varies by style, we review Hope & Henry piece by piece. Many styles are 100% organic cotton, while others combine organic cotton with natural fibers such as linen. Some of their stretch styles contain a small percentage of spandex. Hope & Henry does not publish enough specific information for us to make broad claims about dyes, PFAS or other finishing treatments across the entire collection, so we only state those details when they are documented for an individual product.
LINTICO specializes in linen clothing made primarily from European-grown flax, with many styles using 100% linen. The brand highlights European Linen, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and GOTS certifications across its material story, and uses pre-shrunk, garment-washed linen for a softer finish.
For color, LINTICO says it favors non-toxic, nature-derived dye systems designed to preserve linen’s breathability and natural texture. We still review each piece individually, prioritizing 100% linen and other natural-fiber styles.
Purely Alpaca is a family-run company that has specialized in alpaca clothing and goods since 2002. What started with their own alpaca farm grew into a broader collection of pieces sourced from alpaca makers in the U.S. and South America. We select from the brand piece by piece, prioritizing styles made entirely or predominantly from natural fibers and clearly disclosing any blends.
